30 Minute Apple Crumble

I am not a huge fan of pie, but apple crumble is a classic that I absolutely love. I like a 50/50 ratio for my crumble to filling, but if that is too much for you, you can always dial back on how much topping you put on. This recipe will make a 9×6 pan amount.

Ingredients:

Crumble Topping-

  • 1/3 cup cold butter cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup quick cook oats
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • pinch of salt

Filling-

  • 2-3 large honey crisp apples peeled and cubed
  • lemon juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:

  1. For the crumble topping, add all the ingredients to a food processor and pulse until they are a course sand consistency.

2. For the filling, squeeze the lemon juice over the apples and set aside.

3. In a non-stick pan over medium heat, melt the butter and add in the sugar and cinnamon.

4. Once the mixture looks like the image above, add in the apples and cook them until everything has a caramel consistency and color. You should be able to move a spoon across the pan with the liquid staying separated like the picture below.

5. Add the apple mixture to a buttered baking dish and cover with the crumble topping.

6. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 min, or until the topping has browned.

7. Spoon into bowls and serve with vanilla ice cream.
